It was initially tempting to go for some .com... :(oops ...  .co domain names , but i did not prereg any , wishlisting some keywords (example espana (wild dreams :)  and a few, also some hacks ( mona.co / cali.co , mexi.co (again high hopes ) , well finally decided to read up the finer prints and be better informed when the open registration took place 20th july 2010.!!

However inspite of the well near  3,00,000 registrations that  cointernet.co shows now , i still have not regged my first .co domain yet !

There are various arguments including the sale of disrupt.co and e.co , however a few things worth considering,

.co if developed , will lead to massive leak of traffic to the .com  ,due to its new nature,people will typo .co .. to .com !

there will be trademark issues with the .com owners :(

being a lauched cctld (although marketed at a tld level and managed by a seperate entity, it can be compared to .me, .tel, .info and such , neither of which really took off, so one has to ask why .co should go one better (considering the cons)

Reg price at the moment is 3-4 times of a .com (forget the .99 GD promos :)

No doubt realestate.co or mona.co would bring in handsome dividends (for a $xx or $xxx investment)

however registering generics like footballequipments.co or homeloandeals.co requires confidence in the extension which IMO , still it does not garner.

If at all it does keep its promise and overcomes the typo issue and manages to stay afloat, then maybe it was a boat missed,

But then , otherwise , some money saved

I find .in much better suited , both in terms of economy of words  and also because it is the "IN" extension at present.
